I bought into VTIQ @$10.88 shortly after I learned about the acquisition of Nikola. I also bought VTIQW afterwards in the $4-5 range... And, I’m as excited as anyone on NKLA success!!! It’s in the top 5 all-time investments at this stage in the game... if your time horizon is 3-5 years or longer, the current price is not a concern...

but, if you’re not playing with house money or your time horizon is less than 12-months... be nimble and careful here.

In the fall of 1999, I built a position in Rambus Technologies (RMBS)... stock went from the mid-70’s to over $400/share, announced a 4-1 split and shot up to ~$600/share over the course of 3-4 months. I was a young broker and it was by far my best pick... for my clients that listened to me, they made a fortune! Those that didn’t, weren’t so lucky.

The timing was leading into the .com bubble and everyone thought things were different and the basic rules of finance/economics didn’t apply. Let me tell you, the rules will always apply.

I’m not telling you to sell everything but, be responsible and get your cost out of your investment at the very least.

Interestingly enough, Cramer was just talking about 1999 exuberance. Be smart everyone!
