By far the most encouraging thing I've seen in the last two weeks was this article/interview with Horacio Zarate. I know we've already read read and discussed it, but I noticed some things that had previously slipped my attention.. they are vital for us to take note of. I will place them in bold.

Clearly the entire article/interview is incredible, but for the sake of brevity I will only post a few parts that contain those key elements:

They will bring natural gas from Texas to Mexico

5/19/2020

Mexico is on the verge of concluding an agreement to produce clean and cheaper energy from natural gas brought from Texas, in order to stop the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) from losing money due to blackouts and the so-called "Huachuliz" ”Also caused by companies that are using federal facilities to do business.

So He Said ...

"We already had a binational agreement from the National Energy Council, also with Texas energy authorities, they are in the best of agreements, it is an issue that we have on the agenda with the Presidency of the Republic, we will meet shortly to explain the project that we have and it will give a lot to talk about, because it will step on some calluses due to the excessive costs in which they sold natural gas, because now we will be able to generate much cheaper and cleaner energy ”.

This was stated by Horacio Zárate Acevedo, president of the National Council of Energy and Petrochemicals, who exclusively shared that last March they signed an agreement with US natural gas generating companies and which they are approaching with the Federal Government, particularly with Petróleos Mexicanos, with the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Electricity Commission, to take advantage of this agreement and bring the cheapest natural gas in the world to the country, thereby beginning to produce cheaper and cleaner energy.

For this reason, Horacio Zárate explained that the project to bring natural gas from Texas will allow that while the generation of energy with this gas occurs, the Federal Electricity Commission will begin to recover, “because it still has a lot of potential, despite having been abandoned and plundered, but it can still give a lot ”.

However, the president of the National Energy and Petrochemical Council said that Mexico should not abandon the intention of generating clean energy, “but first the CFE must shake itself. There are millionaire contracts that they made in the last six years, where they bought very expensive natural gas and that was the business of a few. There are the conditions to clean everything, to return to being an energy power and hopefully that the Federal Government will take advantage of this situation, because we are working for it ”.
