Not to mention that scraping up material from a surface exposure is relatively easy. Try dealing with the costs of benching down, hauling increasing ratios of waste rock material, blasting, engineering costs, and so on. Rock gets harder usually, with depth. There won't be any more scraping possible.
But hey, PT will keep issuing his announcement of "gold production", with ever-changing tonnages on the pad, different ranges (or is it averages?) of gold values, and liquid recovery values, ounces produced (but no evidence of any ever sold) and so on. It is almost like he throws a dart at a board full of random numbers for each PR.
