Some false narratives just keep getting repeated, heaven knows why.

The "(OTCQB:FNMA) (OTCQB:FMCC)" part is just auto-inserted. There was another Seeking Alpha article, I believe about Fairholme's holdings, that said he owns "Fannie (OTCQB:FNMA) and Freddie (OTCQB:FMCC) prefs", and some latched on to those inclusions as "proof" that Berkowitz owns commons even though the article clearly said "prefs"!

Seeking Alpha no longer allows non-subscribers to view old articles, but I think it was this one that tracks Fairholme's holdings.

It's all a double standard anyway. If a big-money investor owns commons it gets trumpeted all over, even if it's based on a false narrative (the idea that Paulson or Berkowitz owns commons). On the other hand, when big-money investors are heavily weighted towards prefs (like CapWealth and the Growth Fund of America), only their common holdings get mentioned.
