I like so many friends and believers today just sort of shake my head in disbelief of the hatred being spread, it is truly a sad thing to see........could it be that folks might would come to different conclusions if they looked inward at themselves for answers and not look outward placing blame on everyone else....just thinking here......This morning I searched many passages of Scripture to satisfy my mind, I thumbed through the O.T and the N.T looking at Scripture passages which I had previously Hi-Lited-- then I landed way over here in Hebrews and thought just maybe this was worth sharing. This was written for the believers in Christ, but, if I may add, it is also good thought for the non-believer, jus say'n. NOW, from my study Bible:

Hebrews 2:1. "Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard. Lest we drift away"-----Now the notes on this Passage goes like this: the key word here is "DRIFT"---or the danger of drifting

"We drift to compromise and call it tolerance; we drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; we drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated"---D.A. Carson--in For the Love of God-----

Then from C.S. Lewis in Mere Christianity----"As a matter of fact, if we examine a hundred people who had lost their faith in Christianity, I wonder how many of them would turn out to have been reasoned out of it by honest argument? Do not most people simply drift away."

Now back to me----As I read this and think it over, I wonder if maybe this is what has happening in our country, we are just drifting away. May I encourage the idea of when using a passage of Scripture to make a point, you 1st and foremost understand the Scripture passage----We are responsible if we lead another astray....God Bless and have a fantastic week (or what is left of it)
