I'm pretty sure competition doesn't want to have anything to do with their patent to use synthetic CBD for drug development.
I have no idea how they think FDA will approve trial with use of synthetic CBD where there is plenty of research available already that human body is not equipped in processing it and synthetic is indeed harmful.
In fact FDA issued a warning letter in 2018.
The only option is that FDA is crooked and if Big Pharma sees they can't compete producing natural CBD and they have to go synthetic.. then I'm sure FDA will spin their story around.
Since I'm still holding a pile of shares here, I do hope they will get any assurance from FDA before they spend more money on research.
