CDC corrects itself again & warns of COVID-19 on solid surfaces
~ "CDC Now Says Coronavirus Can Spread on Surfaces" ~ 5-27-20 ~

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now says it is possible to transmit coronavirus from contaminated surfaces, amending language on its website from last week that cast doubt on that possibility.

“After media reports appeared that suggested a change in CDC’s view on transmissibility, it became clear that these edits were confusing,” a press release published Friday read.

The White House has blasted the CDC for its response to the coronavirus crisis. White House trade adviser Peter Navarro last week criticized the agency for its faulty coronavirus test kits.

In recent weeks, the Trump administration rejected a 17-page CDC report that detailed the steps for local officials to take to reopen businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.

“It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their mouth, nose or possibly their eyes. This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about how this virus spreads,” the agency said Friday."
