HR Generalist

Position Objective:
The primary objective of this position is to administer all functions of Human Resources, including but not limited to: Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Employment, Training, Performance Management, Coaching and other responsibilities as required.

This is a “hands on” position that requires extensive interaction and visibility with all levels of the organization. This role must consistently demonstrate the following competencies: customer-focused approach, flexibility, excellent problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communications, excellent collaboration and relationship skills, proven effective decision-making , ability to work independently, out-of-the-box thinking, HR functional/technical skills, results orientation, managerial courage, ability to work with ambiguity, ability to motivate and coach others, organizational skills with an attention to detail, strategic agility and a proven ability to develop effective teams.

We are seeking a highly motivated, engaged and committed individual with relevant Human Resources experience that has an interest to work in the emerging cannabis industry.

Essential Functions:
Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
Maintain compliant personnel records, HRIS records and compile reports from database; serve as back-up for payroll processing as needed
Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations
Administer all HR procedures for employees; assist in development and implementation of employee programs
Provide employee benefits administration including status changes, PTO, LOA and other employee changes
Train management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, and harassment-free company practices, as well as other HR-developed training
Recruit for exempt and non-exempt employees as well as temporary and contract employees; prepare and deliver offer packages and onboarding processes
Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive adoption of company culture, values and goals
Update and maintain employee handbook and HR policies and practices
Research, suggest and create new HR programs for employees and develop special HR projects as assigned
Administer employment terminations and unemployment process
Complete other HR related functions, as needed (i.e. talent processes, HRIS reports, etc.)
Complete internal investigations, maintain thorough and accurate documentation, and write Investigative reports and summaries
Other tasks as needed


Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Human Resources role
Strong experience in employee relations with hourly workforce


Knowledge and Other Required Qualifications:
Ability to consistently execute high-quality products in a timely and efficient manner
Successfully contributed in both public-traded and private corporate environments
Experience with due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and significant organizational change
Experience with integrating and creating organizational cultures
Customer-focused approach, with high level of professionalism, exceptional integrity and discretion
Significant experience with HR best practices and employment laws and regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed organizational skills with a strong detail-orientation
Not easily frustrated or discouraged, extremely resilient and positive mindset
Solid experience with hiring and recruiting processes and systems
Commitment to diversity and inclusion in hiring and developing talent
Sound judgment, clear thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Office suite
Strong knowledge of various HRIS systems
Commitment to ongoing self-development and learning

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Familiarity with the cannabis business
PHR or SPHR certification
Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)
Must be able to work virtually / remotely extremely well
Monday through Friday, with weekend hours as needed;
Availability based on manager’s requirements
If final candidate is not located in Colorado, the candidate will have to be able to travel as required
