Thalers book on behavioral economics is a good read. It may explain what you are reading here and the reaction you are getting. His book "explores the cognitive biases of individuals and investors," and from what I read here on the IPIX MB it seems to coincide with a couple of his principles including the "endowment effect" which is how investors assign excessive value to what they already own. And also the concept of "anchoring," which is the way an investor's judgment is skewed by an initial piece of information or experience. There are other psychological insights that Thaler uses to explain anomalies in investor behavior when it comes to investing, these are just a couple of them. GLTU
