I think many bios, large and small, knew their drugs had little to no chance in working against CV but thought they would throw them up against the wall to see if anything might stick and they could reap a big payday.

Most BPs IMO used their grossly inflated grants on other things and gave token investigations into a few of their long shots, though the majority of what they received went into areas unknown as does most govt spending. I look at what they received as just more of the same ol' DC easy money pigs wallowing at the trough of free govt handouts.

IPIX, on the other hand, badly needed as thorough and complete testing as possible for Brilacidin since it is expected to have a very robust spectrum of indications across many medical areas so we started getting the testing done as our MAIN priority and during the process we realized that Brilacidin had extremely attractive properties for the treatment of CV19 and focus was widened from general testing to specific needs regarding ending the CV19 dilemma. Hope govt has saved meaningful funds for spending (Finally) on drugs with a better chance of succeeding than just a hope and a prayer which has been the case to date.

IMO a gross amount of needless money was spent to date on grants as it seems zip has come about that could be deemed a success. They whole wave of "repurposing" was a wash and now the lesser known new drugs, of which Brilacidin is the leader, are the ones that are going to carry the day for solving CV.
