The idea of trapping a pathogen in a "Nano channel" so that it could be SEEN sooner as it divided, was very intriguing to me. The Ebola run up made me an investor, as well the Nanologix US patent for Aptamers for use in diagnostics. That is another entire platform that shows enormous potential.
It sure has taken longer than I thought for the technology to gain traction, but I suppose "the medical community" is burdened with educational confirmation biases that run deep. It's hard for a new technology to take hold when there is a "this is the way we do it" attitude in the Microbiology lab.
With SARS-Cov-2/Covid 19 there has been a change in this attitude due to necessity.
New technology and techniques are being used to fight this bug. Using the Nano scale we can approach the bug in its own neighborhood, detect it and combat the pathogen BEFORE it infects cells. An example of this is Innovation Pharmaceuticals' (IPIX) drug Brilacidin. The latest study shows is can KILL the virus before it infects the host cell thus obviating the need for a vaccine.
A type of disinfectant used INSIDE the human body.
Hmmmm, didn't somebody else say that a little while ago?
