It is a stock dividend!!! Read post 4700 and the link provided. You just provided 4 links and it can get very confusing. In a stock dividend the owner of the stock the last trading day before the ex date ends up with the dividend! Ex date is the 18th, last trading day before the ex date is today!

If that person is the owner of record and owns the stock at the close today they get the dividend before trading opens on Monday. Probably tonight, but it depends on your broker.

Now the tough part and why there is so much confusion. The divi is paid out to the owners of record, but if they do not own the stock at the close today they have to give the divi back to their broker as a bill due divi and it goes to the person who owns his stock at the close today and is payable December 20!

So to answer your question yes we need to go through this every time!!!
