I agree with your sentiment. But I doubt the reviewer misunderstood anything. He’s just pointing out the limits of what the article can conclude.

Of course, it’s beside the point because Dr. BP’s most important contribution doesn’t rely on the outcomes of the clinical trials. It comes from the lab. He specializes in providing assays of blood and plasma, and he has detected highly elevated levels of RANTES in CV patients’ blood. That’s huge. And there’s no disputing it. Others will look and see that he’s right.

Someone could try to argue that RANTES is irreverent to this disease. But that contradicts everything we know, and the clinical trials will prove it.
