Well actually here’s the difference between asking the company and relying on someone posting on a stock message board.

The company is legally obliged to answer questions truthfully or to say it’s not able to comment (at all either way to questions) which address company issues which might not have been disclosed to the market yet.

Posters on stock message boards post anything they want and even feel free to trash a company and it’s officers and say “I’m exercising my first amendment rights!” In any other country in the world it would be illegal or at least actionable by a Civil law suit.
