Hey ChuckD-MSB sure it is pretty simple and goes like this. I trade around my core which is much less than yours it can vary between 400-1000 shares of T.

I like to work with the weeklie options so I can generate money weekly. I sell Puts and Calls at the same time. Best to do this on Thursday or Friday the preceding week to get the best premium I try to sell them 2-3 strikes out of the money. Since T usually has about a 1.5 move up or down each week most of the time both expire worthless so you keep the premium.

If you get assigned you either gain shares or give back shares when one side ends up in the money.

It's a great way to increase your dividend return while you wait for the quarterly payments. With a 6000 share stock pile I would defiantly use 4000 to sell covered calls depending on your cost bases. By doing this you will also bring down your cost bases from the premium you collect.

Just start out making small trades and get a feel for it.
