Previously, I had posted that Brilacidin has two pathways not one, but two pathways in terms of how it modulates the innate and adaptive immune response to enable the anti-inflammatory properties. They are:

1. Like what you mentioned and what the site had explained and illustrated: cAMP pathway resulting in PDE4: Cytokine storm
2. (Type 1)IFN-b ( Interferon B) pathway.
A. An induction has two effects (positive feedback loop): an- antiviral effects ( INDIRECT ANTIVIRAL! The other way Bril can be antiviral ) in response to viral infection (RNA).
B. Anti-inflammatory part Deux. Also responsible in downregulating RANTES
during cytokine storm!!!

Two hypotheses:
Direct antiviral is by entry - by affecting the structure of the SARsCoV2 binding site known as Spike protein that binds to host ACE2 receptor.
Anti-viral by degeneration of E envelop protein.

The University's virologists should be able to shed light on this!
