In trying to determine (for my own information) how Neomedia will generate income from mobile media, I found this web page on the News of the World website.
http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/scorealerts.shtml
The note at the bottom is what caught my eye. Though this applies to text messages, I’d think the model would apply to Qode:
“Messages received will be charged at 25p. Messages sent will be charged at your standard rate. Available on all UK networks. To cancel send STOP to 61008. For help email txtra@bluestarmobile.com or call 02079359152 (standard rate).”
So, from my perspective, Neomedia will probably earn money from each click Qode generates, but companies using the technology (such as this newspaper) will just turn around and mark that amount up and recoup it from the consumer.
Is this a reasonable interpretation of NEOM’s business model?
