Is EYES worth salvaging, IYO?

I think yes, BUT the technology is expensive and all the testing is too. If the next generation for glaucoma etc works, the size of the market will be significantly larger (though the cost of the product will still be huge).

It needs a very deep pocket and a commitment to spend a lot of money with maybe not a lot return - need spaying power. They need a ABT or JNJ, and I am not optimistic that they will find anyone to make the commitment for very uncertain return. Probably $300-500MM spent to far and probably at least the same amount needs to be spent on next generation.
