Jimmy Joe: I think Arnold is stuck on stupid. It is an undeniable fact that with every experiment done, the scientific case for synDNA only strengthens. Indeed, to my knowledge, there is not one single example in which synDNA has not either done as well as or out-performed bacterially fermented DNA. Therefore, in the relatively near term, synDNA will win either on a cost basis, or on a performance plus cost basis. What's not to like?
To reiterate; in a start-up biotech company, the foundation must be good science, and without it there is nothing. I believe that CYGX has demonstrated the robustness of their science several times to date, and I forsee further improvements as their relatively new technology becomes optimized over time. For Arnold to willfully distort recent PR into a comment on what may or may not occur years from now is, IMHO, not entirely intellectually honest, because the long term is not predictable, even by Arnold.
