Brilacidin showed some nasty side effects in the ABSSSI trials (high blood pressure and neuropathy), which is why they had to lower the dosing period from 3 days to 1.

Mechanistically, there is reason to believe that Brilacidin may have activity against Covid, but if they have to dose IV at the doses used for ABSSSI, they'll run into the same side effects.

Maybe a inhaled form can be developed for Covid. The oral rinse version of Brilacidin for oral mucositis works well, and avoids the side effects seen with multi-day IV administration.
