The article is very long, herewith some excerpts:

Preface:
The project is a universal vaccine for the disease, which should protect against all influenza virus strains with one injection. The vaccine has been developing for about 15 years at BiondVax, which is headed by Dr. Ron Bakovov. Company Clinicians. The vaccine is currently in its final phase 3 trial, which includes a clinical trial in a large number of people. If the trial is successfully launched later this year and the vaccine is approved for use, it could replace the seasonal flu vaccine given annually, valid for only a few months and based on a World Health Organization informed guess of the influenza strains that will infect next year. The new vaccine will line up with him and not a lot of money.

Q/Do you think a vaccine for Corona will make sense in a year and a half?

A/"Developing a vaccine for Corona will take time, even if they decide to shorten processes because of public pressure. It's not something that is done in two months. Each vaccine needs to be tested and proven, and it takes many months. "There are no miracle cures to address the current outbreak. They may be able to develop a vaccine or cure by next winter. There are masses of scientists and groups in biotech companies that are making great efforts in this direction, and I hope at least one of them will succeed."

Q/Why is it that the vaccine you are working on for the flu has taken more than 20 years, and this too, in case you manage to get the approval soon?

A/"In the case of influenza, we went for something completely different from the corona vaccine. The influenza virus is seasonal: it arrives in winter, disappears in late spring, and returns again in the following winter. In a given year, it will not be effective against the virus of the following year.

Q/If the vaccine manages to protect us from violent strains of the flu, could it prevent the next epidemic?

A/"Yes. If it is proven effective. Remember that we do not yet have the results of the significant clinical trial. Everyone is now busy with Corona and the number of dead, but every year, hundreds of thousands of people die in the world, and it can reach 650,000 dead worldwide. We do not refer to these numbers because we have become accustomed to it. A universal vaccine like the one we produced will prevent many diseases, including avian influenza and swine flu, which never know when their new strain will arrive. And when such a vaccine, a new vaccine should not be prepared and vaccinated every year. "It will only be possible to give thrust shots once every few years, as they do with tetanus, for example."

Q/After so many years of research on the flu vaccine, do you believe you should see it happen?

A/"If the clinical trial succeeds, I think it will. It will take a few more months, and I believe I will live by then, if I do not like Corona. It will give me great satisfaction. It can benefit humanity for years."

Q/How will you feel if the experiment fails?

A/"I don't want to think about it."
