It's an old ploy. And it's never worked before.

Multiple currencies were the death knell for Chinese paper money in the Middle Ages (ours, not theirs). People very quickly grasped the fact that both were probably worthless.

Scrip quickly inflated as soon as convertibilty was legislated away. History is about to repeat itself.
