After seeing many negative posts about Avita on this board over the past week, I wanted to post the following just as a reminder to fellow shareholders of Avita that there are far more strengths and positives than any nay sayer can come up with about Avita. The following post is from the Hot Copper website that was posted back on Feb. 22nd by Sharesdude:

The more I hear about this company the more excited I get. For those who haven’t listened to the podcast I highly encourage you to, it’s only 30 minutes long and was posted 24hrs ago. I have however collated a few key points that I took away from the interview. Feel free to add any others I may have missed:

AVITA MEDICAL 2020:
Current goal is to increase Top Line revenue
Dr Mike Perry waste no time in getting capital investments when opportunities arrive
Avita Medical is changing the standard of care which has been used for half a century
Avita Medical skin grafts vs traditional methods is 80:1 – meaning they cover 80 times the treatable area in comparison to traditional methods whilst using significantly less donor area (credit cart example provided at bottom of post)
ReCell saved 27/28 lives from the bail bombings after patients only had 15% of skin grafts available for harvest
Fiona woods donated all of her profits to her foundation – very patient-centric approach

TOTAL ADDRESSABLE MARKET:
Various burns market, trauma and Vitiligo adds up to a 2 billion market
2 billion market is not including other areas they are looking to expand in: Chronic Wounds (Pilot data looks good) Genetic Errors, Rejuvenation
2 billion dollar market is de-risked
De- risked because:Trials have already been conducted, thousands of patients treated (Vitiligo etc) - they know what the outcome will be
Matter of powering the trials, sizing them correctly and executing on them
2 billion dollar market is an execution exercise – doing it as quickly as possible
The 2 billion dollar addressable market is only for the US
They are looking at re-expanding into the rest of the world, Europe and back into Australia
Currently provides products to countries they are approved in (Europe, Australia and China)
Most of their revenue right now is from the US alone,
Re-expansion into international markets along with their growth focus in the US will see this revenue increase

HOW DO THEY MAKE MONEY:

They sell the system (includes the devise, enzyme, buffer, syringes and dressings) – each device covers 10% total body surface area, if someone comes in with a 30% total surface area burn they would purchase 3 of the systems
Avita Medical manufacturers the systems
Single us battery operated system
Cost of system 6,500 USD
Syringes are purchased from other vendors
CUSTOMERS AND COST OF SAVINGS

The customers are both hospitals and the physicians
Hospitals get a 1 fix payment per patient
Avita Medical give significant savings to hospital
Saving health care dollars because patients are being released from hospitals earlier
Since lower donor sites are used patients have reduced length of stay in the hospital (approx. 30-35%)
Avita Medical are not creating new wounds on other areas of the body (by not having large skin donor sites)
The skin grafts which traditional methods harvest is just as problematic as the wound itself and leaves a scar
The physicians have a code which they charged against
Physicians have a smoother procedure and a better outcome for their patients
In-patient example, with traditional methods, to cover the size of a male adult back it would require 2 thighs and 1 or 2 arms
With ReCell the donor area would be the size of a CREDIT CARD due to the 80:1 ratio (mentioned at the top of the post)
Outpatient example will require a donor area the size of a post stamp
Avita Medical is working with pediatric skulls – small children accidentally get hot soup or coffee poured on their head by reaching for these objects

COMPETITORS:

No one is breathing down their neck
No competitors – no one can sell without violating the patents of Avita Medical
Avita Medical WORKS IN CONJUNCTION WITH POLYNOVO – they do not compete against one another, in-fact they compliment one another
They consistently look at the market, no one is entering
Even if someone was to start today with a clinical trial and if they figured out how to reverse engineer Avita's system – because Avita have a PMA it would take competitors 5 years to catch up to Avita (assuming Avita have no patents at all)

Companies that create revolutionary products or services genuinely excite me and I can't wait to see what the future looks like for Avita. I hope these notes help, and as always, DYOR!
