I’m still not sure exactly what testing buys you. In order for testing to work you’d literally have to test everybody. Not sure we have the capacity to test 350million people in this country, and how often would your test them? Because I could be okay today and then get the virus tomorrow, and oh by the way since 50% of the people have no symptoms, you might not even know you are sick. Not to mention there are probably legal roadblocks to mandatory testing.

Fact is, there’s not a lot that can be done, despite the political finger pointing.

If you are high risk, you need to take it upon yourself to take proper precautions and self isolate. Factoring out the high risk population, the morbidity rate is exceptionally low.

Herd immunity is what’s going to stop this virus. All the shutdown is doing is delaying the inevitable. The original thesis was to flatten the curve so the healthcare system doesn’t get overwhelmed. Well, there’s not much a hospital can do for you anyway. If you go on a ventilator, you have a 90% chance of dying. I’d take my chances at home. Hell, hospital acquired infections kill 100,000 people in this country every year.
