LoL: Team oNe is no longer the manager of Flamengo eSports
Team oNe is no longer the manager of Flamengo eSports. The decision, made by Simplicity, is based on the plan to keep operations sustainable over the long term. Now, the North American company is solely responsible for the management of the red-black.
Flamengo is now managed solely by Simplicity
The information released by ESPN Esports Brasil also includes positions of Jed Kaplan, majority shareholder of Simplicity. According to him, "Team oNe is no longer involved in Flamengo's daily operations".
“Because of the importance of the Flamengo Esports project, we made changes so that the management of the team is consistent with the standards and expectations of the Flemish Nation and the culture of Simplicity. We fully understand responsibility and honor as responsible for Flamengo Esports at CBLoL ”, said Kaplan.
As previously stated, Simplicity is now solely responsible for the management of Flamengo eSports, including financial administration and also the coordination of professionals, staff and players.
The main reason for the split between Team oNe and Simplicity was precisely the administration of Flamengo. While the North American company entered as the main investor, the Brazilian organization entered with its structure ready. In addition to managing professionals and providing space in the Training Center, the Golden Boys were responsible for attracting sponsors and hiring new players. Now, all of that will be left to Simplicity.
Both companies are partners in the joint venture “Simplicity One”, where they joined together to manage the red-black team.
The report also reveals that another reason that led to the decision was the late payment of Flamengo players. The delay of up to 20 days of payment generated discomfort between players and Team oNe.
According to Kaplan, the Golden Boys remain as minority partners in the company, holding 10% of the company, while Simplicity owns the other 90%. The contract for this joint venture runs until the end of 2022.
While Flamengo eSports continues to fight for CBLoL, practically guaranteed in the playoffs of this first stage, Team oNe continues to try to return to the elite in the Challenging Circuit. Currently, the Golden Boys occupy the 4th position, with five wins in nine matches played so far.
