Directional Drilling... When trying to steer the bit, you "Slide" (meaning you point the mud motor in the way you want to go & stop rotating the drill string)... If you are unable to make any hole while sliding (which often happens in longer laterals), the Directional Driller is likely to say: "F-It, let's Rotate"...

As in, let's give up for now & resume normal drilling (Rotating the Drill-String)...

That's exactly what it means...
