In every case that a large customer of a utility/distributor might be causing a voltage issue at a substation, the utility and/or the customer will have placed a standard passive capacitor bank in that substation. This has been done for decades. The math is easy to do, they are simple, reliable devices, and there are several substation component manufacturers that make them.

This company calls it "recycling wasted energy," foists up a scam video that implies that energy is being saved for the customer, says its a problem that hasn't been solved, and then goes on to say "we're going to place the devices for free and get the utility to pay us from the savings." It's just another version of the tired old hoax, call it power factor correction, phase angle synchronization, power quality improvement, whatever.

I swear I’ll never use the phrase “you can’t make this stuff up” ever again after being on the OTC. Apparently you can.
