I am not being racist; I am responding to racist remarks made by prominent African Americans. The mortality rate for African Americans is far greater than it is for most other ethnic groups. I hear people in the media every day say racism is one of the causes "When a white person gets a cold, a black person gets pneumonia", that sort of thing.
Well, living in an area that has one of the poorer Black populations in the country, I see a lot of obese individuals, who most likely are diabetic.
COVID-19 is most dangerous for people who are obese and diabetic. I submit to you that the percentage of obese diabetics is highest among African Americans.
I think it is very un-American to attribute the higher death rate to racism. In cities, free health care is available to poor people.
Rural areas are a different matter.
