A lot has been said about our "TIME...TALENTS...MONEY. I totally agree that organized religon sometimes focuses on the money issue more than time and talent, and quite often send the wrong message. That is sad, very sad. When the subject changes to our checkbooks the attitude of both the clergy and the lay people ,Well let's not go there. A personal testimony will do better. I have prayerfully considered this and searched the scriptures prior to posting.

There was a time in my life when money was not an issue. "I" had money and "I" gave money (please notice the "I") Yes "I" did good. It was given for good but not for the GLORY of GOD. I was self employed doing good, then I was injured and out of work for almost 2 years. Hardship...I could write a book. When I saw a light at the end of the tunnel, it was another train coming to knock me down. One morning when reading the scriptures, then my conversation with God went something like this:

Lord you know the mess I am in...I know financially what I am to do, we both know I don't have enough money to get by on, but Lord if you will see me thru this mess I promise that I will always give 10% back to you. (Notice I did not say organized religon--I said I would give to God). It was in short order that my life was put back in order. Then came the subject of money....the devil can invent excuses you never hear of...but the Holy Spirit directed me and I did as promised. Shortly the devil tempted me to skip or short God, once again the Holy Spirit pulled me thru and I never missed the money. I have since been tempted but not as often as before, I know the Holy Spirit is always there to pull me thru.

In closing....2%---5%-----10% what is correct...IDUNNO..but I do know when it comes to the Christian and his/her checkbook it is a decision to be made only after talking with God and listening to God, then and only then make your covenant with God. Trust in the Holy Spirit to direct you on the proper use of your MONEY and you will be "Richly Blessed"..Once again you cannot out give God.

There have been times when the Holy Spirit has directed a finanical need in my direction which calls for a gift of more than my covenant...I do as directed..know what??? Those $$$$ always comes back several times over. TRUST GOD....He'll see you thru.
