In the end, what did Tommy Boy get out of running this scam?

I don't recall the financials showing that he was drawing any cash out of the company. Sure he was probably wined and dined by his potential "business partners" as they paid homage and stroked his ego, but beyond that what was in it for TB?

Would the toxic lenders put money directly into TB's pockets to keep this scam alive?
