That is starting to sound very unprofessional.

What? Have you not tuned into CNBC or any other news station the last few weeks? Nearly every single CEO/Coorespondent/analyst/billionaire is being interviewed in their living rooms over video. Are you living under a rock? That's how it's happening. Everyone is dealing with it.

Secondly, this conference was always going to be over the web, so it seems likely to me that it will be paired with a presentation. If you are presenting through a powerpoint, it is usually accompanied with corresponding audio from whoever is presenting. This is how every single quarterly presentation I've ever seen with biotechs. You never even see the face of the presenter. You only hear them while you watch the slides.

And finally, you are assuming that the first delay was based on their physical inability to carryout the conference, when in fact, it was due to not wanting to release news into an extremely bad news cycle and getting the most amount of eyeballs on this breakthrough. The news media was only talking about COVID-19 (and rightfully so).

Unfortunately the death toll will be much higher next week than it was in mid march. But you could say the same thing about total deaths in 4 months from now when new cases are likely back down into the triple or double digits. But what's different now that wasn't the case in mid march when there was no sign of plateau, is that there is now light at the end of the tunnel. I don't want to minimize the horrendous losses that we've already sustained, but there is a much better mix of optimism then there was a month ago. We are now dealing with "known unknowns" as opposed to the "unknown unknowns" in March.
