This is insane. Green New deal isn't an option. You just don't know it yet. Just like you're president finally figured out we have a problem less than a week ago.

This was all preventable. We had months to prepare. If we had national organization with full on mobilization of the production of masks, gloves, and tests we would not have had to be in this situation. And if we had not disbanded our pandemic response organizations, or used past mock run ups as toilet paper, we would have understood we need to do that.
Maybe if your party was growing in humility and listened to the experts on the future markets it would be okay. But they're not. Your party will be the last ones to figure out the fossil fuel industry is dead, as we know it. That's not a wish. It just is. Supply is swamping demand, and when we do get back out into the world (which thanks to Republican leadership is not in the near future) that relationship will invert. Untold amount of American companies in the industry will have gone under. Demand will swamp supply and prices will sky rocket, making it less and less attractive. On top of that the investment money won't be there, because people with money, know its not the energy choice of the future.
Why would anyone trust a Republican to make a good decision at this point? To do so is certifiably insane.
