Naked shorting is the illegal practice of short selling shares that have not been affirmatively determined to exist. Ordinarily, traders must borrow a stock, or determine that it can be borrowed, before they sell it short. If you go all the way back to LFWK, there was the rumor even back then that there was shorting going on. I remember the late Pete Barton (RIP) asking the directors in 2006 about the shorting rumors.
I think that I have posted some of my buys in the last decade on here. They may be naked shorted but who knows.
