Earlier today, we teamed up with our partners at Early Investing to chat with the founder of Deal to watch, 20/20 GeneSystems, which is preparing to provide COVID-19 tests. 20/20 is using artificial intelligence in combination with blood tests to help detect cancer at its earliest stages. They're doing that, but have moved to also license and sell a test for the novel coronavirus that has largely crippled the world. You can view the webinar here.
In other news, Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary championed equity crowdfunding to startups needing capital during these difficult times. In an environment where venture funding is drying up, equity crowdfunding has so far bucked the trend. If you'll recall, in this newsletter last week, we covered Wefunder and their Q1 this year being the best it has ever had.
We will mention, however, that Kevin O'Leary recently joined StartEngine as a strategic partner and is a shareholder and paid spokesman for the company. We'll be watching the pace of funding in the following weeks to see if Q1's trend continues (which we hope it does!)
If startups take Kevin O'Leary's word to heart, we hope to see an influx of startups turning to equity crowdfunding. And with that, investors will need a tool like KingsCrowd! We are here to help you navigate this new frontier of investing!

Cannabis and CBD are growing in popularity. With the popularity comes opportunity for individuals looking to profit on that popularity. The CBD market, however, is incredibly fractured as companies have struggled to capitalize on the opportunity at scale. Hempazon aims to become the leading hemp and CBD platform for managing sales of hemp and CBD products with their goal of eventually becoming the Amazon.com of hemp and CBD.
Hempazon, however, is a bare-bones e-commerce site with an unclear position in te market, limited potential to scale due to regulation, all with the risks associated with a pre-revenue business. Unfortunately, it's difficult for us to see this startup succeeding long-term.
