I am beginning to let go of my expectations for HHS and BARDA reaching out to the company. BARDA announced today an extension to their existing parntership with Janssen (a subsidiary of Johnson and Johnson) and they already have partnerships with Sanofi and a few other companies.

There are a host of companies trying to develop therapeutics and most of them are vaccines from pharmaceutical companies. Check out this recently published list of companies, it's crazy long:

If you do a search for cytokines in this list you will find a half dozen of them have proposals on the table that address cytokine storm but they are only theoretical applications. CTSO is one of the few companies that actually has a product that is being used for this.

I am beginning to believe that people at the FDA just can't see a medical device as being a viable therapeutic solution, that devices are only for diagnostic and testing purposes. This together with the fact that these pharmaceutical companies spend a lot of time and money lobbying in Washington.
