In WH press conference, Trump mentioned that hospitals are testing these drugs on sample of 1000 people in NY. It will take few take days before conclusive results are out.

Once effectiveness is proven, then all these lock downs should go away.

But you know how the health care system works. Unless they spend few billion dollars, few years of testing and produce volumes of reports, experts will not not agree that it works.

In case of many popular drugs approved, even after all these things have been done, drugs have been recalled for safety concerns. But in case of chloroquine, these drugs are in use for many decades for treatment as well preventive purpose. But media will come out with their own excuses to delay the general use and drag on the lock down.
