Dear friends, the more i research this, the more i find that by far the best prevention and treatment for COVID-19 is keeping a HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM.

A statistic about the New York City western hemisphere center of the pandemic indicates that at least 95% of fatalities thus far were persons already in compromised health, dealing with heart disease, lung disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer and other diseases which are in most cases “civilization diseases” caused by unhealthy food-choices and/or smoking. Even when there is an underlying genetic condition, these diseases are usually triggered or exacerbated by poor lifestyle behaviors. So quitting smoking and shifting your diet to healthier sources are two immediate steps to be taken. More about food choices in a moment….

--Allow yourself to cultivate strong feeling-currents of loving-kindness, good cheer and empathetic compassion for fellow beings. A POSITIVE, LOVING ATTITUDE is a PROVEN IMMUNE-SYSTEM BOOSTER.

--Get PLENTY OF VITAMIN D-3, through daily sunshine and through supplements (it's one of the cheapest vitamin supplements available). There is a massive amount of literature on Vit D-3 for cancer prevention, warding off seasonal flu, etc. In fact, flu season hits when people of cold climates are spending too much time indoors and depriving themselves of natural Vit. D from sunshine.

--Get adequate DEEP SLEEP and INVIGORATING EXERCISE.

--Allow for quality time in meditation / prayerful contemplation and/or DEEP RELAXATION (see J. Schultz’s secular "autogenic training" used in stress-management clinics since the 1950s, auto-hypnotically suggesting "heavy... and warm" for each of the major areas of the body such as face, torso, arms/hand, legs/feet). Spending 8-15 minutes in deep relaxation or meditation/contemplation allows stress levels to calm down as the parasympathetic nervous system balances out the sympathetic system (which is oriented to the "fight-flight-freeze" anxiety state and all manner of restlessness).

--Reduce immune-compromising INFLAMMATION and bodily stress by eating as close to a whole-food plant-based (WFPB) diet as much as possible, i.e., a wholesome vegan diet featuring delicious veggies, fruits, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, grains and probiotic foods like miso, sauerkraut and pickles. Eat ORGANIC sources of food (especially when it comes to wheat, corn and soy) to eliminate inflammation from GMO forms of these foods. "Just say 'No!'" to callous, harmful Big Food and ELIMINATE dairy, eggs and meat from your life, which are all HIGHLY INFLAMMATORY for the human gut and rest of the body. (This is why so many athletes are going vegan, to eliminate inflammation and recover more quickly from injury and grueling exercise. See the documentaries "The Game Changers" and the even more inspirational "From the Ground Up" on Netflix or Amazon Prime or other outlets.)

If you're on a ketogenic (Keto) diet, switch to the plant-based keto diet invented by world-renowned nutritionist Dr. David Jenkins (who pioneered the glycemic index to help diabetics). Plant-based Keto is far healthier than the meat/dairy-heavy keto diet. Animal fats destroy your arteries and are loaded with "top-of-the-foodchain" inflammatory toxins like PCBs, dioxin, etc. etc., not to mention the stress-chemistry in the flesh of the traumatized, suffering animals who were needlessly tortured and slaughtered for this “food”—which is not natural for primates and is a proven cause, along with junk food, of all of our epidemics of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, cancer, obesity, diverticulitis, kidney stones, and an array of other “civilization diseases.” Need I inform or remind readers that most of our worst epidemic/pandemic scourges and numerous other diseases (e.g., measles and chicken pox) are ZOONOTIC DISEASES that have come from humans exploiting animals? (E.g., the 1918 Spanish flu, the Asian Flu and following Hong Kong Flu, HIV/AIDS, H1N1 Swine Flu, Ebola.)

--Practice good hygiene of washing hands with foam-soap (the foam disrupts the coronavirus' membrane).

--Gargle with Listerine and/or salt water solution, especially right after running errands such as going to the supermarket.

--Use the "neti pot" method of cleansing the nasal passages or just flush these passages by snorting up some salt water solution and expelling it forcefully to keep the coronavirus or other viruses (rhinovirus) or harmful bacteria from lodging in the sinus passages.

--If you suspect you have coronavirus or rhinovirus, put an inch of water in a saucepan, bring it to a boil, simmer it, and as carefully as possible inhale the moist steam heat without burning the nasal passages. (You may have to back off a few inches if it gets too intense.) Moist heat like this will greatly reduce or eliminate almost all viruses and bacteria.

--If you get sick with COVID-19 or a flu or cold, FAST FOR A FEW DAYS on NON-STARCHY vegetables such as zucchini squash (not winter squash), celery, asparagus, leafy and cruciferous veggies, green beans, etc. NO SUGAR or STARCH or FATS/OILS or PROTEINS during this fast. Viruses FEED OFF SIMPLE SUGARS or anything that converts to sugar. When you starve a virus of sugar and other usable foods for a few days of rest and plenty of simple fluids (mainly water, and perhaps unsweetened tea like ginger tea), your immune system has a great chance to get the upper hand over the virus.

Along this line, you can make and sip the world famous "Bieler Broth" invented in the 1950s by Los Angeles physician Dr. Henry Bieler (author of the classic book "Food Is Your Best Medicine"). Dr. Mehmet Oz and other doctors finally began to take this seriously in recent decades and tout this broth for persons with colds and flus instead of problematic pharma drugs. I have used the Bieler fasting method whenever needed (first sign of a soar throat or runny nose) for over 40 years to quickly get rid of any head-colds from rhinovirus with only minor/minimal cold symptoms for 1 or 2 days. Before i discovered Bieler's method at age 22, every cold would inevitably turn into terrible sinusitis and bronchitis for 10-15 days at a time--requiring massive use of antibiotics as a boy, countless doctor visits, weeks of school missed every year, and agonizing sinus headaches and chronic infections. The Bieler method was a God-send to anyone prone to viral and/or bacterial infections.


--There are many other things one can do to strengthen the immune system and thereby prevent or treat COVID-19 short of availing yourself of plasma therapy, hydroxychlorquine therapy, and the promised "way-down-the-road" vaccine.
