Have a friend in Brooklyn who is positive for a lot of symptoms, as is his wife. They have not gone to be tested, because... 'what's the point?'. Don't want to use resources others might need. If positive they will just send him home and he will quarantine for 2 weeks, which he is doing already. He reports that the symptoms are lessening with time, BTW.

However, if there were a finger prick test that they could self-administer and knew it would not mean going to the hospital or clinic and put unnecessary pressure on the staff and resources, it would give them a lot more confidence. Their 15 year old daughter is staying with other family, for example, and it would be good to know when it will be absolutely safe to have her return.
