Yes, Thermo's test is a pcr test, meaning a gene test. It still takes time to determine the genetic make up of the virus. PRED's is a antibody test. Antibodies are produced when the body's immune system responds to a virus. The antibodies are in the blood and can be detected from a blood test more quickly.
