Yeah, the many who demanded Netflix would buy MoviePass makes little sense as Netflix is all about viewing away from a theater. Streaming, and previously rentals, has definitely cut into theater business.
One option for AMC, is to be open only for short spans of time, and repeat. Or, it could charge much much less and get those seats filled. Studios cramp such ability. Aaron said this would undercut value of theaterical movie prices. Not sure. But all those empty seats is a wasted opportunity. MoviePass attempted to address that. Just ran out of time, due to poor mngt deciding to overspend and expecting start-up money to flood the unicorn. business. It may have, had Toxic Ted not been running the damn thing. And had those fuckers Ted n Mitch not twice lied when they promised "cash flow positive within 60 days."
