With copper selling at $2.09/pound on Monday (and costing $2.35/pound to mine/produce) Codelco is now selling its copper and taking a $.26/pound loss each time. New influxes of cash from the state are being shredded, squandered, cluster-focked, and worse still "beaner-focked", plus piddled away with nothing to show for it. Useless ribbon-cutting Jolly Green giant oaf Baldo is incapable of helping or propping-up the dying leviathan Codelco and he can only offer typical pretend assistance with cheap hot-air trite proclamations like "This of course is going to mean much lower income and having lower incomes, the company's contributions to the treasury are going to be significantly reduced"... a proclamation which when combined with $4.00 will get you a coffee supreme at Starbucks.

Codelco has to make a payment on maturing debt of $860,000,000 this year and $787,000,0000 in 2021. The chances of Codelco finding (or magically scraping up) $563,000,000 to use as a dowry to pay the MsBodelco JV CAPEX dowry (ie the marriage of MSB_SpA to Codelco) is an empty impossible dream now and easily will remain as such through the rest of Pinera's abysmal term as midget-commander-in-chief.

Dear Codelco CEO Octavio Araneda, it is time for you to step up to the plate and issue a statement that Codelco is incapable of going forward on the (ie on any) Maricunga Lithium deals and that Codelco is terminating any claim to lithium oversight/parasitic-blood-sucking rights it may have had in the region. This formal letter should simply state that MSB_SpA is now free to pursue any other JV partnership it may be able to negotiate without further interruption/curtailment/albatros-hanging-around-MSB_SpA's-neck from Codelco. This is not something a beaner would typically do and certainly that indicted piss ant Ex-CEO Nelson Pizzaro would not have done, but new Codelco CEO Octavio Araneda strikes me as not being a typical fascist/vengeful beaner.
