I tend to think the opposite as I have witnessed the abuse of the system first hand back in 2008.

Around 2009 there was some type of loan modification program. Two ladies in my office, gainfully employed suddenly stopped paying their monthly mortgage payment on purpose. They said they qualify for the loan modification hence if they didn’t make payments for three months then they can refi and have part of the loan be forgiven. During the mean time they partied up with the money they didn’t pay on their mortgage. Sure enough months later they both got a better rate and 1/3 of their loan forgiven.

This whole coronavirus will create give opportunity to fraud, cheat, and more socialism.
