Sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has a long history of being behind the curve when it comes to breakthroughs in natural medicine and healing therapies – including, most recently, CBD.

But just last week, the new head of the FDA, Dr. Stephen Hahn, had something unusual to say about CBD.

“We know one thing, the American people are using CBD,” Hahn said. “People are using these products. We’re not going to be able to say you can’t use these products. It’s a fool’s game to try to even approach that.”1

Hahn went on to say, "We have to be open to the fact that there might be some value in these products and certainly Americans think that’s the case.

This represents a complete reversal of recent FDA pronouncements on CBD. Remember this…?

“The CBD craze is getting out of hand. The FDA needs to act,” said former FDA head Scott Gottlieb just last July.2

And…

“CBD has the potential to harm you,” opined former FDA head Dr. Norman Sharpless as recently as last October.3

Wow.

The new head of the FDA just admitted it’s a dumb idea to try to keep CBD out of the hands of Americans that need it.

And signaled that the FDA’s open to more CBD research and products.

Just when you thought the FDA was on an all-out crusade to keep CBD heavily regulated – despite passage of the 2018 Farm Bill.

Can the FDA really withstand the nation’s current love affair with CBD?

I hope we are not about to go through a bureaucratic buzz-kill, but I will keep an eye on this for you and keep you well-informed.
