Yes you're very correct, news is mainly what pushes it up.
Around 8-9 years ago, I had just sold my shares at around 1.50 ish or so out of frustration and being in it for a while, took my big loss too. SPEX came up with some news right away and it spiked up to $15 the nex day. Imagine how stupid I felt.
