They can drydock it and use it for a helo pad.
It's planned obsolescence at it's finest, here just build these flaws right into it and we can make tons more money fixing them.

Can you imagine paying someone to design and build a boat for you that essentially would crap out in a storm and kill the entire crew. Then just turn around and "PAY" them to fix the mistakes that they built into it in the first place.
Sounds like they built them with leftover crap form navy boats bought at overstock.com.
What a joke, and now the coast guard wants to do "Live Fire" exercises in the Great Lakes for "Homeland Defense". It's not enough that the Navy fires depleted uranium rounds on practice runs right into our oceans. The Coast Guard which patrols on an inland body of water that does not allow for any ships of warfare had to get into the act.
I suppose next the salvation army is going to start doing drill practices.
