He's simply addressing investor concerns. It's a CEO's responsibility to know everything that's going on with the company, investors, and how people view the company. He probably gets emails every day from angry investors because the share price has fallen so much in the past few weeks, there's nothing wrong with him addressing lies and deceit that is being said in chatrooms.
