These sectors, says Connett, include media, automotive, travel, FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), gaming and financial services. Connett says he is confident the initial campaign will help to kickstart the process of getting the technology out in the marketplace, which he describes as "similar to delivering a baby elephant."

Data Matrix Supplier to AutoMart (& China Mobile)

Supplier of DM to AutoMart (& China Mobile) is Gmedia, http://www.gmedia.cn/indexe.htm
China Mobile is pushing the DM this month to get ready for the 3G roll out in early 2007. But DM is much limited when compared with Aztec.
China Mobile: http://www.chinamobile.com/ENGLISH/index.html
Note:At this moment, DM on AutoMart web site no longer can be opened. (May be it's a hint.)

IMO: Since Cybercentury is working IT for China Mobile(also Motorola, Cisco, HP, etc.), so will the Neom & Gmedia work together or not? A pausible question. Depends on how Shang Fang to approach on this. OR other mobile carries, like China Unicom, China Network Communications (http://www.cnc.cn/en/index.asp), while the opportunities for Neom is not limited to China Mobile, the mgmt may go with the 2nd tier like what they did in Europe with Euro RSCG LONDON, that's what I speculate at this time until more news to confirm any move.
Quote:
Chuck Jensen, president and CEO of NeoMedia Technologies, said an agreement was signed with Beijing Sino-U.S. Jinche Yingyang Auto Technological Services Ltd. of Beijing. NeoMedia officials, including Kevin Hunter, the company's chief scientist and co-creator of PaperClick technology, took part in exploratory meetings with leading China telecommunication companies last week, where he explained and demonstrated PaperClick technology and prototype products designed for the consumer market.

www.chinaview.cn 2006-12-05 09:27:04

BEIJING, Dec. 5 -- China could "very soon" award domestic telecom operators licenses to build 3G (third generation) mobile phone networks, the country's top telecom official said yesterday.

"I cannot provide a specific timetable, but it could happen very soon," Wang Xudong, minister of information industry, told reporters at the ITU Telecom World 2006 being held in Hong Kong.

Wang reiterated a commitment to enable operators to offer 3G services during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, saying it is "well-founded and feasible."

3G services enable video calls, faster data downloading speed and mobile Internet access.
