This morning was one of those mornings where I just could not get my mind in gear and for what ever reason just could not absorb anything...then after visiting several different books in my Bible I came across this in 1 Timothy 4. It was not so much the Bible verses as it was the notes on it...allow me to share:

1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

From the notes of Dr. David Jeremiah: Paul warns that false teachers will come. How do we know when teaching departs from the faith of the Bible? Use these truths as a compass:

1- Sovereignty of God
2- Lordship of Christ, evidenced in His death and resurrection
3- Necessity of repentance
4- Certainty, availability, and reality of grace
5- Preeminence of love---for both God and others
6- Authority of Scripture

If we hear or read anything that undermines any of these core truths, we can be sure that teaching departs from the true faith

NOW, did any of those 6 things speak to you? What caught my eye was # 3--"Necessity of repentance", why? Well I thought of how politically correct we have become today and how we just don't want to offend anyone, even at the cost of dodging the truth. If we fail the truth we promote the lie. We ignore the need for repentance by accepting everything as OK----repentance----forgiveness----they go hand in hand, something here to think on and it goes way beyond "if we fail the truth", it goes to what we are being taught and how we live our daily life. God Bless and enjoy your day
