This is one tough spot for Tom:
In the future I hope he learns to stagger the drilling. Initially Im sure it seemed like a great idea, it was a great selling point, 2 wells simultaneously, but now, having missed Hardeman.....his options are limited, because every shareholder is ready to dump on any large block sell. So now:
Lets say Mesa is a success, and he wants to keep it quiet for a few days to secure surrounding leases, but needs to sell shares in order to do so. Shareholders see Tom selling and pull out.
Mesa is a success, and he immediately puts a PR out stating so, and he now has competition for the surrounding land where the big guns prepare to also tap the basin. He has to now sell more shares and shareholders see the pps didnt shoot as high as anticipated and pull out.
If its gas and not oil, shareholders pull out.
If its dry....well.
It looks as if he's in a no win situation, unless he hits the motherload!
Maybe he rushed home after hitting gas to sign leases, and he too is 1stepahead. JMO...GLTA
