Why are you concerned about Canopy's admission that it had too much indoor grow space - Canopy says it is shuddering 3 million square feet of GREEHOUSE space by the way.

Profit margins on anything produced in a Canadian greenhouse are always going to be limited because of the great need for heating and then you have to use supplemental lighting much more up there than you do pretty much anywhere in the US.. Even in the central coast of California, late fall through early spring heating needs are an enormous expense for growers.

It makes perfect sense that CGC is switching over to outdoor where the overhead is far lower than either greenhouse or indoor - especially if a producer intends on making extracts (typically highest margins) with their plant material.

One thing to keep in mind however is, even if the State of Florida started to allow outdoor cultivation, it would NOT be an option for Cannabis as cannabis simply cannot thrive outdoors in Florida's sub tropical climate, at least in a commercial sense with the varieties that consumers are after.. On that thread, the fact that LHS (and others) are profitable in a state where greenhouses are AIR CONDITIONED (!) is a true testament to how strong the mj market is there...
